Senora Claudia Sandridge

Eighth Grade Teacher

Mrs. Sandridge (or Señora as her students address her) is originally from Cali, Colombia. She received her degree in Business Administration from ICESI University in Colombia. After arriving in Denver, Colorado in 2001 to learn English as a second language, she began to teach Spanish to adults and children. She completed the Teacher Licensure Program at Regis University in Denver in 2013. She has always taught in Catholic schools since 2004. Including 13 years at Christ the King Roman Catholic School in Denver. Her students in Spanish have ranged from Pre-K through 8th grade.

Ms. Sandridge joined us at SS Simon & Jude as the 8th Grade Homeroom Teacher, and Spanish Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. She has been a blessing to our school and community. Her passion is teaching and expressing her Catholic beliefs and values. She enjoys preparing the 8th Grade students for the new challenges and opportunities they will face in High School. Speaking about her teaching she says, "Our students have an opportunity to grow spiritually and academically, and they show pride in SSJ. And I am proud they are learning to become examples of love, kindness, leadership, and happiness." She also helps keep them looking ahead, as when she tells the 8th Graders, "It is important how you start your 8th Grade year, and even more important how you will finish the year." She and her husband are active in the community as members of the Parish near their home in Phoenix. They love travelling, spending time with family and friends, swimming, the outdoors, and cheering for their favorite sport’s teams.
